Head to the beachfront promenade (Paseo de las Canteras) in the heart of Las Palmas. The sheltered side near Playa Chica is best for swimming. Arrive early to secure a good spot before the midday heat.

Located on Calle Dr. Verneau 2, a 10-minute walk from Casa de Colón. The museum holds the world's largest collection of Guanche artifacts and mummies from pre-Spanish Canary Islands.

Search for a guachinche-style spot or traditional restaurant around Vegueta's Calle Pelota or Plaza del Pilar Nuevo. Look for houses displaying a bunch of rushes as a sign.

Arrive early at Avenida de Francia in Maspalomas to beat queues. Bring sunscreen and a towel, and check the dolphin show schedule at the entrance.

Located on Calle Audiencia in Gáldar. Book tickets online in advance as entry is timed and limited. The painted cave and interpretive museum give great insight into pre-Hispanic Canarian life.

Drive or take a taxi to this deep ravine near Agüimes. Search for the cave restaurant area along the main road through the valley and hike one of the marked trails for striking rock formations.
