Datos rápidos: Tres ábsides y una enorme cúpula central fueron tallados directamente en la blanda toba, creando una iglesia que se siente más como una catedral-cueva. Los frescos aquí abarcan dos épocas distintas, con patrones geométricos del período iconoclasta junto a vívidas representaciones posteriores de santos.
Destacados: Un colosal fresco de Cristo Pantocrátor vigila el ábside principal, su mirada intensa sigue a los visitantes a través de la nave. La cúpula de 10 metros de ancho de la iglesia crea un efecto acústico donde incluso un susurro cerca del altar es audible desde la entrada.
