Getting around

By public transport

Zürich's center is compact and walkable, so on Day 1 use foot to cover the Old Town and Fraumünster Church on Day 2. For longer hops, the city's trams and buses run frequently; the 6 tram connects the main station to Zurich Zoo, while the 4 tram serves the Swiss National Museum. For Uetliberg Mountain, take the S10 train from the main station (about 25 minutes each way). Technorama in Winterthur requires a 25-minute regional train from Zürich HB. A Zürich Card covers all transit. Taxis run about CHF 6 per kilometer; use Uber or Taxi.ch for ride-hailing. Rental car is the alternative, though unnecessary given the excellent transit coverage.
