見どころ: 礼拝堂の北側にある「涙の柱」には小さな穴が開いていて、昔から訪れる人たちがそこに指を入れて痛みを和らげるよう祈るという奇習が伝わっている、触れるとひんやりした石の感触も忘れられないよ。大ドームは537年に建築家アンテミウスとイシドロスによって完成し、直径は約31メートルで、1453年以降多くの金色モザイクが漆喰で覆われていたが、1930年代に白いベールをはがされたとき、デエシスのモザイクなどが息を呑むように現れた。
