概要
クイックファクト: 香り豊かな通路では色とりどりのスパイスやドライフルーツの山が目を引き、店主と少し交渉しながら試食するのがいちばん楽しい。数十軒の専門店が軒を連ねているため、ロクムや香草ティー、思いがけない珍しい香辛料を一点ずつ見つける楽しさがある。
見どころ: 朝9時の開店直後、山積みのスパイスの香りが細い通路を満たし、サフランの小瓶が朝日に赤く光る光景はまるで色と香りの万華鏡だ; 建物は約350年以上の歴史をもち、細い通路に並ぶ約85軒の店が今日も声を張っている。ある老舗では5世代にわたり顔見知りの常連だけに特製のスパイスブレンドを小さな紙包みでそっと渡す習慣が残り、その配合を守るレシピは100年以上前から代々受け継がれていると店主が笑って話す。
