Korte feiten: Verborgen diep in een rotsachtige kloof leidt een waterweg naar een grot met een kristalhelder meer waar je kunt varen. Onderweg moet je over een paar rotsblokken klimmen en een aantal natuurlijke poelen overzwemmen om dit natuurwonder te bereiken.
Hoogtepunten: Diep in de grot, wanneer de zonnestralen door een opening in het plafond dringen, licht het water felblauw op, alsof er een onderwatervlam brandt. De watertemperatuur blijft hier koel, zelfs op de heetste zomerdagen, en de stalactieten die uit de rotsen steken doen denken aan een ondergrondse kathedraal.
Insidertips
- Do not forget water-resistant shoes or sandals, as most of the way you will have to wade through water.
- The hidden cave is about a 40-minute hike from the starting point, so bring snacks and water.
- Diving into the cave requires swimming skills, so if you are not confident in your abilities, limit yourself to swimming near the entrance.
- The best photos from inside the cave are taken around noon, when the sun shines directly through the opening in the ceiling.
