Korte feiten: Meer dan 4.000 objecten van Oezbeeks kunstnijverheid bevinden zich in een voormalig diplomatenpaleis uit de jaren 1930. Handgesneden houten plafonds, kleurrijke suzani-borduursels en geglazuurd keramiek uit heel Centraal-Azië vullen elke hoek.
Hoogtepunten: De entreehal is één groot kunstwerk: elke centimeter van het plafond is bedekt met handgesneden en goudgeverfde houten panelen, gemaakt door meesters uit Chiva en Buchara. Let op de geheime binnenplaats met een fontein omgeven door blauwe geglazuurde tegels, waar het geluid van water zich vermengt met de geur van jasmijn in de lente.

- Take pictures of the ceiling in the entrance hall, it is the most impressive single work.
- Spend extra time in the suzani room, the details and symbolism of the embroideries are easy to overlook when passing by.
- Do not miss the museum shop, it sells genuine handicrafts at prices far below the bazaars.
- Visit the small courtyard before you leave, it is often empty and offers a quiet moment.
