Head to the stretch of beach near Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the main beachfront road. Arrive early before 9am for quieter water and hire a chair from one of the many beachfront cafes for around 20,000 VND.
Located at the corner of Tran Phu and Hung Vuong streets near the river. Walk the ground floor for fresh produce and dried seafood, then head upstairs for textile souvenirs and tailor stalls.
At 156 Tran Phu Street, a 15 minute walk from the market. The exterior is best photographed from the front gate; mass schedules are posted if you want to see the interior.
Walk across the bridge itself and then follow the promenade along Tran Hung Dao Street on the east bank. The bridge rotates at midnight on weekends to allow ships through.
Best viewed from the Han River side near the bridge foot at Bach Dang Street. Arrive by 9pm on Saturday or Sunday to see the dragon breathe fire and water.
Look along Bach Dang Street between the two bridges for open air bars with plastic stools facing the river. Try a local Bia Saigon for around 10,000 VND a glass.
