Rychlá fakta: Osm milionů návštěvníků sem každoročně přijíždí vzdát hold tomuto 46 metrů vysokému monumentu. Sedm betonových věží představuje sedm etap hnutí za nezávislost Bangladéše.
Zajímavosti: Z vrcholu centrální věže se slunce odráží v milionech skleněných částic vsazených do betonu a vytváří za úsvitu téměř mystickou záři. V mlhavých dnech věže jakoby plují nad bílým závojem, který pokrývá okolní zahrady.
