Rychlá fakta: Uctívání se zde rozvíjelo napříč 30 královskými dynastiemi, zhruba dva tisíce let nadbytečné výstavby, která přežila samotný stavitelský boom pyramid. Velký hypostylový sál obsahuje 134 pískovcových sloupů, z nichž nejvyšší se tyčí asi 24 metrů, tak hustých, že mezi nimi denní světlo sotva prosvítá.
Zajímavosti: Legenda praví, že obejít kolosální sochu skaraba sedmkrát splní přání srdce, a každý den uvidíte návštěvníky, jak se kolem ní točí s opravdovým záměrem. Krátký výstup po cihlové rampě na první pylón odhalí celou východo-západní osu dole, stejné dvoutisícileté vyrovnání, díky kterému slunce o zimním slunovratu rozzáří vnitřní svatyni.
