Rychlá fakta: Téměř dva tisíce let trvající stavba vedla k jedinému chrámovému komplexu, který tvořilo více než třicet faraonů. V hypostylovém sále stojí 134 kolosálních kamenných sloupů, největší z nich jsou 23 metry vysoké a mají obvod téměř 15 metrů.
Zajímavosti: Hlavní sál je tak obrovský, že by se v něm současně vešly římská bazilika svatého Petra a pařížská Notre-Dame. Ranní slunečné světlo, které proniká vysokými otvory kolonády, barví povrch 23 metrů vysokých sloupů do hluboké oranžovočervené barvy, jako by sám kámen oživl.
