Rychlá fakta: Jen hrstka žen kdy vládla starověkému nilskému království jako plnohodnotní faraoni a tato královna vládla 22 vítězných let. Její památník skládá tři kolonádové terasy proti útesu vysokému téměř 300 metrů, který se tyčí nad pouštní plání.
Zajímavosti: Její nejvyšší správce Senenmut tajně vytesal do pilíře ve dveřích svůj malý portrét, aby mohl svou královnu střežit po celou věčnost. Vybledlé stopy modré a červené barvy na reliéfech napovídají, že celý komplex kdysi zářil živými barvami.
