Rychlá fakta: Kopec se tyčí 286 metrů nad mořem a před staletími sloužil jako hlavní námořní výcviková základna dynastie Chola. Jeho jedinečný tvar připomínající myší hlavu dal oblasti jméno odvozené z malajálamských slov "ezhi" (myš) a "mala" (kopec).
Zajímavosti: Uvnitř kopce se skrývá 150 stop dlouhý starověký tunel zvaný "Marmala Tunnel", o kterém místní legendy říkají, že spojoval kopec s pevností Tipu Sultan vzdálenou několik kilometrů. Vejděte do tmy pouze s baterkou a ucítíte, jak se mění chladný vzduch, když stojíte v chodbě vytesané ručně před více než 300 lety.
