Rychlá fakta: Michelangelo sculpted this commanding figure as the centerpiece for Pope Julius II's tomb, a project he worked on for four decades though it was never fully completed. The statue's famously horned head comes from a mistranslation of the Bible, where the Hebrew word for "rays of light" was rendered as "horns" in the Latin Vulgate.
Zajímavosti: The real magic happens when you step close enough to see the details in the beard, the veins bulging in the arms, and the intense gaze that legend says Michelangelo himself struck with his chisel shouting "Speak!" The sculpture shows Moses mid-motion, gripping his beard with knotted fingers, frozen right at the moment he's about to rise, which gives the whole figure an electric tension you can feel from across the room.
