Rychlá fakta: Laguna Berbera slouží jako klíčové místo zastávky pro tažné ptáky putující po východoafrické migrační trase, ročně zde odpočívají desetitisíce jedinců. Salinita vody v laguně je téměř dvojnásobná než v otevřeném oceánu, což vytváří unikátní ekosystém s růžovými solimilnými mikroorganismy.
