Early morning from 7-9 AM when the sun shines diagonally across the blue facades and the tourist buses have not yet arrived. Spring and autumn have the most pleasant temperatures for walking in the alley.

Rychlá fakta: Přes 40 mauzoleí se tísní podél úzké uličky, každé pokryté modrými a tyrkysovými glazovanými cihlami. Pohřební komplex vznikal po dobu 300 let a každý vládce se snažil překonat toho předchozího svou okázalou hrobkou.
Zajímavosti: Na vrcholu schodiště se nachází hrob Kusama ibn Abbase, bratrance proroka Mohameda, který podle legendy nezemřel, ale žije dál v podsvětí. Proto se toto místo nazývá "Hrob živého krále" a stále můžete vidět poutníky, kteří u jeho mauzolea zanechávají malé lístky s modlitbami.

- Dress covered over shoulders and knees, this is an active pilgrimage site and respect is expected.
