Rychlá fakta: Zde astronom Ulug Beg měřil polohy hvězd sextantem o poloměru celých 40 metrů. Jeho hvězdný katalog z 15. století byl tak přesný, že ho západní astronomové používali ještě několik set let později.
Zajímavosti: Obrovský sextant není nad zemí, ale je vyhlouben hluboko do skalní štěrbiny, takže nad povrch vyčnívá pouze mramorový oblouk. Na jeho 40 metrů dlouhé klenbě měřil Ulug Beg polohy Slunce a planet s přesností, kterou Evropané dorovnali až o dvě století později.

- The museum next door shows Ulugh Beg's original manuscripts and astronomical instruments, do not miss it.
