Rychlá fakta: Přes 250 000 předmětů je v sbírkách, od nástrojů z doby kamenné po nádherné textilie z 19. století. Jedním z nejfascinujících exponátů muzea je 2000 let starý bronzový kotel z řecko-baktrijského království.
Zajímavosti: Celý sál je věnován nástěnným malbám z paláce Afrasiab, kde 7 metrů dlouhá barevná scéna zobrazuje průvod s koňmi, velbloudy a zahraničními hodnostáři ze 7. století. Malby byly objeveny až v roce 1965 a jsou považovány za jeden z nejdůležitějších archeologických nálezů ve Střední Asii.
