Schnelle Fakten: Dies ist eine der wenigen katholischen Kirchen Nordafrikas, die der auf einen Thron gesetzten Gottesmutter gewidmet ist, mit direktem Blick auf das Mittelmeer. Die runde Kuppel des Chors ist schon von weitem vom Meer aus sichtbar, und im Inneren der Kirche hängt eine Marienfigur, die 10 Meter über dem Boden unter der Decke schwebt.
Highlights: Auf dem Hauptaltar der Kirche steht eine schwarze Marienfigur, die die Vereinigung der Völker Afrikas symbolisiert und bei Pilgern den Spitznamen "Unsere afrikanische Madonna" erhalten hat. Wenn man auf der Terrasse vor der Kirche steht, eröffnet sich ein Blick über die gesamte Bucht von Algier, und Einheimische erzählen, dass man bei klarem Wetter sogar das Kap Matifou in 20 Kilometern Entfernung sehen kann.
