Schnelle Fakten: Etwa 200 Vogelarten suchen entlang dieses Ufers nach Nahrung und nisten dort, zusammen mit ansässigen Giraffen, Wasserböcken und Zebras, die sich frei bewegen. Als echte mondförmige Halbinsel wurde sie erst mit dem Festland verbunden, nachdem der Seespiegel in den 1980er Jahren stark gesunken war.
Highlights: Der Sonnenaufgang gehört hier den Flusspferden, von denen Dutzende die ganze Nacht das Ufergras abkauen und sich dann wenige Meter von deinen Stiefeln entfernt zurück in den See hieven. Auf der östlichen Klippe kann man sich flach an den Rand legen und direkt hinunter ins klare Wasser blicken, wo diese Riesen treiben, während Fischadler aus den toten Bäumen darüber rufen.
