Schnelle Fakten: Das Museum beherbergt über 4.000 Werke in einem weitläufigen Gebäude aus der Sowjetzeit, das ursprünglich als Revolutionsmuseum erbaut wurde. Die Sammlung reicht von litauischer Avantgarde bis zu internationalen Größen wie Andy Warhol und Jasper Johns.

Highlights: Im obersten Stockwerk taucht ein monumentales Buntglasfenster des litauischen Künstlers Kazys Morkūnas das Treppenhaus im Laufe des Tages in wechselndes bernsteinfarbenes Licht. Die Dauerausstellung umfasst außerdem ein selten gezeigtes Hologrammporträt von Jonas Mekas, dem legendären Avantgarde-Filmemacher, das beim Vorbeigehen zum Leben zu erwachen scheint.
