Trakai is a small, safe lakeside town near Vilnius popular for its island castle. Tourist scams here are relatively minor, mostly centered around transport and dining near the castle. The main things to watch are unofficial rides from Vilnius and overpriced food and drink in the castle tourist zone.

Trinkgeld: Not expected but appreciated for good service. Round up the bill or leave 5 to 10 percent in restaurants and cafes. Taxi drivers do not expect tips.
