Schnelle Fakten: Drei Generationen der Familie Zubair sammelten über 5.000 Artefakte aus der omanischen Geschichte, von antikem Schmuck bis zu Kaffeekannen, die in den Gastfreundschaftsritualen der Beduinen verwendet wurden. Die vier Häuser des Museums erschaffen jeweils einen anderen Ausschnitt des omanischen Lebens, darunter ein voll möbliertes traditionelles Palmwedelhaus und eine Waffengalerie mit 500 zeremoniellen Khanjar-Dolchen.
Highlights: Die meisten Besucher gehen direkt an der kleinen Tür im Haupthaus vorbei, die zum Frauengebetsraum führt, einem abgeschiedenen Wohnzimmer, in dem omanische Frauen einst weibliche Gäste abseits der Männerblicke bewirteten. Die Decke hier ist mit lebhaften geometrischen Mustern in Rot und Gold bemalt, und die Kissen tragen noch immer den schwachen Duft von Weihrauch von jahrzehntelangem Gebrauch.
