Schnelle Fakten: Vier massive Steinbögen ragen 11 Meter hoch empor, gemeißelt aus rosa Granit, der aus 40 Kilometern Entfernung herbeigeschafft wurde. Das Denkmal erinnert an die Schlacht von Junín von 1824, einen der letzten Konflikte in Perus Unabhängigkeitskrieg von Spanien.
Highlights: Anders als die auffälligeren Denkmäler in anderen Andenstädten besteht dieses aus kolossalen rosa Granitblöcken, die bei Sonnenuntergang burnt orange leuchten. Einheimische versammeln sich hier jeden Abend zu spontanen Straßenimbissständen und Dominospielen, was es zu einem lebendigen Gemeinschaftsraum macht, nicht zu einem statischen Denkmal.

- Come around 5 PM to catch the sunset light hitting the granite blocks and turning them a deep orange.
