Schnelle Fakten: Rund 300 Jahre Geschichte pressen sich in eine kurze Gasse, in der dünne, blasse Ziegel aus der Qing-Dynastie bündig an dunkleren aus der japanischen Ära liegen. Der gesamte Block stand in den 1990er-Jahren kurz vor dem Abriss für eine geplante Schulerweiterung, doch jahrelange Proteste machten daraus stattdessen eine kostenlose Freiluftgalerie.
Highlights: Fahren Sie mit der Hand die Arkadenwände entlang, und Sie finden eine Zeitkapsel aus Mauerwerk: dünne, blasse Ziegel aus der Qing-Ära neben dickeren, dunkleren, die unter japanischer Herrschaft verlegt wurden. Am hinteren Ende der Gasse wartet im Hof noch ein jahrhundertealter Steinbrunnen, und an ruhigen Morgen ist das einzige Geräusch Regen, der von den Ziegeldachtraufen tropft.
