Schnelle Fakten: Mehr als 2.000 Arten trockenheitstoleranter Pflanzen aus sechs mediterranen Klimazonen gedeihen auf 5 Hektar. Die Sammlung umfasst über 800 Arten von Sukkulenten und Kakteen und ist damit eine der vielfältigsten Trockenpflanzensammlungen in Südkalifornien.
Highlights: Ein schattiger Weg führt an zwei hundertjährigen Olivenbäumen vorbei, die von einer historischen Ranch in Orange County umgesiedelt wurden. Im Frühling erblüht der südafrikanische Abschnitt mit Aloen in feurigen Rot- und Orangetönen, die dutzende von ziehenden Pirolen und Kolibris anlocken.

- Bring a hat and water even on overcast days; many paths have no shade cover.
- The best photo spot is the curved bench beneath the giant bird of paradise grove near the South African section.
- Skip the main entrance path and head straight for the back loop where the rarest succulents are displayed.
