Schnelle Fakten: Eine schmale Gasse mit 44 prächtig gefliesten Mausoleum ist eine der meistfotografierten Straßen Zentralasiens. Der Komplex ist nach Kusam ibn Abbas benannt, einem Cousin des Propheten Mohammed, dessen Grab die Kraft der Auferstehung besitzen soll.
Highlights: Tritt durch den Eingang und die Welt versinkt, während du zwischen Mauern voller unberührter türkiser, kobaltblauer und terrakottafarbener Fliesenkunst aus über 700 Jahren entlanggehst. Jedes der 44 Gräber erzählt durch seine glasierte Fassade eine Geschichte, wobei das Morgenlicht die Kuppeln in genau dem richtigen Winkel trifft, sodass die geometrischen Muster zu schimmern und sich zu bewegen scheinen.

- Skip the guided group tours and go early to hear the tilework echo off the narrow walls in silence.
- The best photo spot is from the upper terrace looking down the corridor, especially in the first hour after sunrise.
- Dress respectfully with covered shoulders and knees, as active worship still takes place at the Kusam ibn Abbas shrine inside.
- Spend extra time at the Shadi Mulk Aka and Shirin Bika Aga mausoleums, where the tile mosaics are the most intricate in the complex.
