Quick facts: Almost half a kilometre of cliff-hugging path runs between pastel wooden cottages, with viewing benches dropped at every major bend. Because the ledge faces west, June sunsets stretch past 10 p.m. and turn the whole harbour into a slow-motion colour show.
Highlights: From the westernmost bench you look straight across the water at the 106-meter city hall tower, whose three golden crowns flare orange the instant the sun dips below the horizon. A short detour past wild roses leads to a staircase locals call the cat stairs, a steep stone shortcut down to the waterfront that almost nobody on the main path knows about.

- Claim the bench at the far western end at least 30 minutes before sunset to lock in the straight-on view of the city hall tower.
- Pack a light windbreaker even in July, because cold gusts roll off the water without warning.
- Take the hidden cat stairs down after dusk to hit the waterfront in minutes and skip the long looping return route.
- Sundays around 9 p.m. draw the biggest crowds, so a weekday visit buys you a quieter bench and better photos.
