Getting around

For this 15-day winter loop, flights save time on long legs: Hanoi to Hue, Hue to Hoi An, and Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City all run 1 to 1.5 hours. Between cities, Grab and Be offer motorbike and car rides, while Vinasun and G7 taxis charge roughly $0.4 per kilometer. Walking is best within Hanoi's Old Quarter, Hue's Imperial City, and Hoi An Ancient Town. Ha Long Bay and Trang An are reachable by organized bus from Hanoi (3 to 4 hours). Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta day trips leave from Ho Chi Minh City by bus. Reach Phu Quoc by 1-hour flight or ferry from the mainland.
