Hitre informacije: Masivna osrednja kupola in štirje visoki minareti ustvarjajo razgleden obris, notranjost pa preseneti z izjemno akustiko, kjer šepeti odmevajo po celem prostoru. Vrhunci: Mimar Sinan je med letoma 1550 in 1557 zgradil ogromen obok, ki v notranjosti zlepi zvoke v mehko, skoraj šepetajočo tišino, pod kupolo pa čutiš hladen kamen in vidiš, kako se svetloba igra po ornamentih iz marmorja. V enem izmed vogalov stojita dve marmorni grobnici, sultana Sulejmana in Hürrem, njuna bližina pripoveduje presenetljivo zgodbo o nekdanji sužnji, ki je postala njegova zakonita žena, in obiskovalci pogosto ostanejo tiho, ko berejo napisane plošče ob njenem türbeju.
