Getting around

By public transport

Osaka is compact and well served by public transport, making the metro your best friend for this two day trip. Most of your stops cluster around the Midosuji, Chuo and Tanimachi lines, with Namba, Hommachi and Kitahama stations covering the majority. Walking is best within Namba, Hozenji Yokocho and Nakazaki-cho, while Sumiyoshi Taisha is a direct ride on the Nankai Main Line from Namba. Utsubo Park is a quick walk from Higobashi on the Yotsubashi Line. For the food market and hidden bars, use Osaka Metro day passes for unlimited rides. Taxis via DiDi, JapanTaxi or Uber cost roughly JPY 1,500 for a 2 kilometer hop. A rental car is possible but parking fees and narrow lanes make it unnecessary here.
