Insidertipps
- After entering through the main gate, head left first to avoid the crowds heading straight for the main hall.
- The best spot for photos is along the corridor of the civil and military galleries. The side light around 3 p.m. brings out the texture of the red walls and ancient cypress trees.
- No need to spend money on a tour guide. Just scan the QR code at the entrance and rent an electronic audio guide for 10 RMB, which is more than enough.
- The "Three Perfections Stele" is in the exhibition hall on the right after entering the gate. Many people rush past and miss it, so be sure to stop and take a look at the inscription.
