Schnelle Fakten: Die hier brennende Flamme soll seit über 1500 Jahren nicht erloschen sein und ist eines der am längsten ununterbrochen brennenden Feuer der Welt. Das im Tempel gehütete heilige Feuer wurde aus neun verschiedenen Quellen gesammelt, bevor es Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts hierher gebracht wurde.
Highlights: In der Mitte der Fassade beobachtet ein großes, in Stein gemeißeltes Faravahar-Symbol die Besucher, eines der ältesten Symbole des zoroastrischen Glaubens. Das durch das Glasfenster des Tempels einfallende Licht tanzt so durch den Innenraum, dass die uralte Flamme von einem fast übernatürlichen Glanz umgeben wird.

- The sacred fire is kept behind glass; photography is forbidden inside the inner chamber, but you are free to take pictures in the entrance hall and the courtyard.
- Do not focus only on the fire: the images of Zoroastrian shrines and prophets hanging on the walls reveal a lot about the belief system.
- Put on a cap or scarf at the entrance; women must cover their hair, and respectful attire is also expected for men.
- It is worth spending a quiet moment in the shade of the ancient cypress trees in the temple garden before leaving.
