Mehr als hundert Tonnen Stahl und der original erhaltene Aufzugskorb geben Besuchern das überraschende Gefühl, in eine nostalgische Maschine zu steigen, die zugleich eine moderne Verkehrsverbindung ist.
Highlights: Der Aufzug wurde 1902 eröffnet, ist 45 Meter hoch und stammt von Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard, einem Schüler von Gustave Eiffel; ursprünglich lief er mit Dampf, 1907 wurde er auf Elektrizität umgestellt. Wenn du die neo-gotischen Eisenverzierungen berührst, spürst du die raue Patina der Nieten und kannst von der schmalen Aussichtsplattform über schachbrettförmige Plätze bis zum blauen Atlantik blicken.
