Schnelle Fakten: Die Kathedrale der Heiligen Jungfrau Maria steht seit 1895 im Zentrum von Novi Sad und ihr 76 Meter hoher Turm ist das höchste Bauwerk der gesamten Stadt. Die ursprüngliche romanische Kirche an diesem Ort wurde bei einem Bombardement im Jahr 1849 zerstört.

Highlights: Das im Turm verborgene Glockenspiel spielt jede Stunde eine Melodie und ist bei Windstille bis zum gegenüberliegenden Donauufer zu hören. Das Innere überrascht mit einer leuchtenden neugotischen Ausstattung, in der sich goldene Details mit bunten Glasfenstern verbinden.
