Schnelle Fakten: Dieses 32.000 Hektar große Schutzgebiet beherbergt über 500 frei lebende Elefanten. Hier gibt es mehr als 200 Vogelarten, darunter den sri-lankischen Pfau und den Adler.
Highlights: Dies ist einer der wenigen Orte, an denen Sie Elefanten ganz aus der Nähe beobachten können, ohne Angst vor Tigern oder Leoparden haben zu müssen. Wenn sich am Morgen der Nebel lichtet, sieht man Elefantenherden am Flussufer baden, ein völlig unvergesslicher Anblick.

- Wear khaki or green colored clothes and avoid bright colors so as not to distract the animals.
- Book an open-top jeep for the safari; photography is difficult in a closed jeep.
- Animals are rarely seen between 12 pm and 3 pm, so choose morning or evening time.
- Be sure to carry binoculars and a water bottle with you; water is not available inside the park.
