Schnelle Fakten: Das 46 Meter hohe Minarett beeindruckte Dschingis Khan so sehr, dass er es vor der Zerstörung verschonte. Der aus drei Gebäuden bestehende Komplex prägt seit mehr als 800 Jahren das Stadtbild von Buchara.
Highlights: Vom Gipfel des Minaretts war die Stimme des Muezzins in der Stille der Wüste noch zehn Kilometer weit zu hören. Das Ziegelmuster des Turms zeigt 14 verschiedene geometrische Verzierungen, die jeweils aus einer anderen Richtung betrachtet anders erscheinen.

- Women cannot enter the Mir-i-Arab Madrasa, but the view of the inner courtyard is beautiful even from the entrance.
