Quick facts: Roughly 40 vendors fill the market's light-filled halls, selling everything from morning-caught fish to saffron-hued honey from the surrounding countryside. The striking early 20th century pavilion, topped with a curved glass roof, has anchored daily life here for a century.
Highlights: Farmers used to sell directly from these same stone counters, and a few families still run stalls that have passed through three or four generations. The glass ceiling pours warm light onto pyramids of oranges and strings of dried peppers, while the scent of roasting chestnuts drifts out to the plaza.
