Schnelle Fakten: Der Volksplatz von Korla erstreckt sich über rund 120.000 Quadratmeter mit einer Grünfläche von über 60 Prozent. Er ist der zentrale Ort für die tägliche Erholung der Einwohner. Die monumentale Skulptur "Aufschwung" in der Mitte des Platzes ist 18 Meter hoch und symbolisiert die dynamische Entwicklung dieser Ölstadt.
Highlights: Jeden Abend um 20 Uhr tanzt die Musikfontäne auf dem Platz zur Melodie der "Nacht von Korla", die Wasserstrahlen schießen bis zu 25 Meter hoch. An den Wochenenden kann man abends hunderte uigurische und han-chinesische Bürger beim gemeinsamen Square Dance sehen. Die Tanzschritte beider Kulturen verweben sich harmonisch auf demselben Platz.

- For great fountain photos, stand 50 meters directly in front of the sculpture. This way you can capture both the fountain and the sculpture in the same frame.
- The square is most crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. If you want a peaceful stroll, visit on weekday mornings instead.
