Quick facts: Rising 136 meters, this is the second-largest pyramid on the Giza plateau, still capped by a surviving patch of its original polished Tura limestone. That pale wedge at the top is the only place on Earth where you can see exactly how all three monuments gleamed when finished.
Highlights: Perched on bedrock roughly 10 meters higher than its neighbor, the entire mass actually looks taller than the bigger pyramid next door, an optical flip that still fools people daily. Kneel and press a palm against the original casing blocks near the summit, warm limestone grit that has survived 4,500 desert summers.

- Show up at the 8 AM gate opening and head straight to the southeastern wall, where the original casing looks cleanest and least touched.
- Wear closed-toe shoes with grip for the interior passage, a narrow, humid, 15-minute duck-walk down to the burial vault.
- Skip the overpriced camel rides at the base and hike 15 minutes to the Panorama Point on the western ridge for the full three-pyramid view.
- Shoot at golden hour from the far western fence line, where the pyramid stacks neatly against dunes instead of city tracks.
